Extreme Rock Creek Makeover

Take a peek into the Creek next time you’re jogging in Rock Creek Park and you’ll see some nasty stuff. Somehow, DC’s aquatic artery has become a magnet for plastic bags, cans, clothing, boxes, etc.
There is nothing more tragic than the sight of mallard ducks swimming to avoid oncoming litter. Take a couple hours next Saturday (April 4) and help give Rock Creek an Extreme Makeover with Friends of Rock Creek’s Environment (FORCE).
FORCE is a local non-profit that works to restore Rock Creek through education, advocacy and projects throughout the year. The annual Extreme Clean-Up is FORCE’s biggest effort that organizes groups at every point along the Creek for three hours of trash pick-up. This year will be the 21st annual clean-up with 40 sites along the Creek.
By going to FORCE’s website, you can locate a site near you and sign-up. All you need to bring are comfortable clothes and shoes. Invite your friends.
Sign-up to participate in the Rock Creek Extreme Clean-Up on FORCE’s site. I’ll see you there!
