Find a Spot to Garden or Share Your Backyard

backyard-gardenIf you’re looking to garden, but don’t have the space at your apartment or home, then you’re in luck.  Sharing Backyards DC is a website that allows users to search for land near them to garden. For people that have some land to share, they can post their little spot of earth on the Sharing Backyards site. “The gardener gains access to a scarce city land and the yard sharer sees her land used to its fullest potential,” explains Alex Goldschmidt who heads outreach for Sharing Backyards DC.

When users of the site find a match, they can begin a dialogue and work out logistics like access to water, tools available and when the goodies will be ripe for harvest.

Sharing Backyards DC started less than 2 months ago and already has over 50 listings for people looking for and sharing land.
