TAP DC and World Water Week

drinking-waterIn the DC area and across the United States, we are fortunate to be able to have access to clean tap water. In fact, we have access to such an abundance of clean water that we shower, wash our clothes, and even flush our toilet with clean, potable water.

Going green is about conserving our resources and helping ensure that those resources are there for future generations.

But what about the people who don’t have clean water even today?

Tap DC 2009,  a part of World Water Week running from March 22-28 is a project to raise money and awareness about the lack of clean water around the world. Nearly 1 in 6 people in the world don’t have access to clean water. Proceeds from World Water Week go to UNICEF who is building clean water systems in a number of countries around the world.

Participation is easy.  Dine at any of the DC area participating restaurants during World Water Week.
