You’ve Got to See It to Believe It
The 17th Annual Environmental Film Festival is being held in Washington, DC, from March 11-22. The festival features over 100 films in over 40 venues highlighting a plethora of environmental issues and natural wonders.
As Philippe Cousteau, the grandson of famed explorer Jacques Cousteau, comments in a welcome video on the website: “What better way to tell such powerful stories, than through film.”
The stories Philippe is referring to are the multitude of amazing, challenging, and sad tales the Earth has to offer. In line with the truism that is the title of this blog, the films featured in the festival profile people, places, and events that will help viewers develop informed opinions and beliefs about environmental topics.
The films range from documentaries like Sharkwater, about the need to preserve nature’s dominant predator to, Help! I’m a Fish, an animated feature tailored for a younger audience.
Regardless of your interest or motivation for attending the festival, there will be a film for everyone to enjoy. Visit the website http://www.dcenvironmentalfilmfest.org/ for film clips, venue locations, and ticket information.
