Area Colleges Lead the America’s Greenest Campus Challenge
A new competition for colleges to reduce their carbon footprints is underway at America’s Greenest Campus.
Local schools including George Mason University, University of Maryland – College Park, and American University have so far secured the top 3 spots in the competition out of the over 420 schools competing.
The competition is sponsored in part by the US Department of Energy and is designed so that colleges can implement greener policies and habits on campus.
