Cabbing to the Bar? enviroCAB it.

The ubiquitous Crown Victoria taxi cab gets about 16 miles/gallon. In spite of its seriously bad fuel efficiency, the Crown Vic is obviously the car of choice for DC’s cab drivers.
Maybe if there were less of these behemoths jammed onto DC’s streets, running for hours on end, the air would be cleaner and the price of gas would drop significantly. One way to push Crown Victoria taxis out of DC is by supporting hybrid cab companies.
One cab company is setting an example for all others by not only running a fleet of hybrid taxis, but by buying carbon offset credits that actually make their company carbon-negative.
EnviroCAB believes that, “If you want to travel in a cab that produces substantially less emissions, you should be able to!” The company claims to be Arlington’s first environmentally sustainable taxi service, as well as the first carbon-negative cab company in the world!
Next time you’re on the street looking for a cab, keep an eye out for one of enviroCab’s Prius’ or Ford Escape hybrids. If you’re calling a cab, their number is (703) 920-3333. You can learn more about them on their website too.
