Help Fix the Conservation Corps’ Mistake

DCist and Scott’s Take are reporting on a project completed yesterday by DC’s brand new Conservation Corps. The Conservation Corps is a program started by Mayor Fenty that employs 800 DC residents ages 14-21 for the summer to do environmental projects around town. It is the largest green-collar job training program in the United States.
Unfortunately, the Corps is already taking heat for this project because it involved half of the employees walking around town handing out flyers announcing their work. Although the message on the flyer was enthusiastic, the project left some residents wondering if leaving paper literature all over town was the greenest way to publicize the Corps.
Rather than bash this oversight, City Renewed is asking that you help the Conservation Corps by picking up and recycling any of the flyers you find in your neighborhood. The Corps have already been dispatched to pick-up the flyers themselves, but we can all save them time by picking up any that we see.
Let’s face it, their hearts are in the right place. Read more about the Conservation Corps on the DC Government’s website.
