New Features at City Renewed!

cityrenewed1City Renewed launched in February with the goal of becoming DC’s comprehensive green resource. No other site in town has a calendar of upcoming environmental events, a complete directory of local green businesses and a blog that focuses exclusively on living green in DC.

City Renewed is constantly improving to provide our fellow Washingtonians with the best, well-rounded information on everything green in the District. In that vein, we are excited to announce daily themed blog posts and 7 new contributors to the site.

Starting today, City Renewed will feature a blog post for each day of the work week with a specific theme. The themes break down like this:

  • Government Eco-Action Monday: Cynthia will be your guide to DC, Virginia, Maryland and federal government action that affects DC’s environment. Look for the latest news on DC Council votes, Metro changes, District Department of the Environment news, Virginia/Maryland legislative updates and more. Check out today’s post.
  • Green Living Tip Tuesday: Daiva normally writes the “Tip of the Day,” but starting tomorrow, she’ll also contribute a weekly post with thorough and useful advice on how to green your home, business, commute and more. She’ll also provide links to local businesses and organizations that can help.
  • Green Business Profile Wednesday: The City Renewed Green Business Directory is a unique resource that lists local businesses that provide services and products to benefit the environment. Get to know these local green businesses with Grace’s weekly posts.
  • Upcoming Green Event Thursday: If you enjoy attending workshops, exhibits and celebrations that benefit our environment, check out City Renewed’s Green Events Calendar. Starting this Thursday, Martha will write a weekly summary of one of the most exciting upcoming green events in town.
  • Organic Recipe Friday: Before you head off for the farmers’ market over the weekend, check out Gaby’s latest organic recipe. Each Friday, she’ll have a delicious new recipe that is good for your health and the planet.

In addition to these new themed posts and their authors, City Renewed has also added a “Green Events Calendar Coordinator” and a “Green Business Directory Coordinator.” Jennifer will be keeping our calendar updated with the latest and greatest green events in Washington, send her your events HERE. Raissa is making sure our business directory is as current and useful as possible. If your business is green, add it to the directory by emailing brandonf (at) Cityrenewed.com.

This is an exciting time at City Renewed. We hope you enjoy the new content and the hard work of our new contributors.
