Rally for Climate Change Bill Tomorrow

470038981_d06e535335-1Tomorrow (June 26), CCAN and EAC are holding a rally on the Southeast corner of the U.S. Capitol lawn, across from the Cannon House Office Building (1st St. & Independence Ave. SE). The rally, scheduled to start at 1:00pm, is in support of the American Clean Energy & Security Act of 2009.

After years of discussions, debate and deliberations, a piece of comprehensive legislation that addresses the climate crisis will finally come to a vote on the floor of the United States House of Representatives. Prior to the vote, participants in this rally will hold up signs, wear green hard hats and carry windmills in a show of support for the legislation.

After the rally, participants are encouraged to enter both the House chamber and House office buildings as a show of force for the various House Members and their staff to see prior to the vote.

If you have any questions you can call 518-301-5384 or email adam (at) powershift09.org. You can RSVP on Facebook by going to the event site. If you cannot make it to the event, President Obama is asking you to call your representatives in Congress and urge them to support the bill.
