Drinking local wine can be fun, it can also be eco-friendly!
Twenty of Northern Virginia’s best wineries are participating in the first annual Wine Country Food and Wine Festival from July 10-12. The Festival is being held at the Historic Whitehall Manor in Bluemont, Virginia.
Each night, a wine pavilion will be open for tastings and live music starting at 6:00pm and ending at 9:00pm. The wine tastings are conducted by wine ambassador and Master Sommelier Mary Watson. Mary will also provide participants with helpful tasting tips so they can learn to properly enjoy their wine.
In addition to great wines, the festival also features cuisine from a variety of Loudon County’s finest restaurants in the Manor House at Whitehall. You can also enjoy a gourmet picnic outside or amazing desserts from Chocolaterie Wanders.
For those looking to combine their love of wine with their love of the planet, Mary Ellen Taylor of Endless Summer Harvest will talk about her hydroponic agribuisness.
Proceeds from the festival will go to the Virginia Food and Wine Foundation to educate and recruit students in the fields of hospitality and culinary education. To learn more about the event and buy tickets in advance, visit the event website.
