Upcoming Green Event Thursday: No-Mow, No-Water Landscaping

Want to reduce your carbon footprint?  Stop mowing!  Carbonfree DC is sponsoring a No-mow, No-water Landscaping workshop this Saturday at the Fairlington Community Center.

With Kirsten Buhls of the Virginia Cooperative Extension, you’ll learn several alternatives to the traditional gas, pesticide and fertilizer friendly lawn.  In addition to tips on growing vegetables and planting flowers, she’ll cover xeriscaping and other earth friendly ground covers.  You’ll even get hands-on demonstrations, making sure you understand the techniques and can apply them back home.
