Wind Energy Coming to Falls Church?
- by Brandon Fuller on Monday, July 6, 2009
If you live in Falls Church, you may begin seeing windmills popping up along the horizon. The city has submitted a request for $25 million in federal stimulus money for green initiatives.
In addition to windmills, city officials say the stimulus funds would also go to energy efficient LED traffic and street lights, geothermal heating and cooling for local buildings and a switch to a hybrid or hydrogen government car fleet.
The city estimates that 271 new jobs would be created from these environmental initiatives.
