Washington is inundated with conventions and meetings throughout the year. Sometimes it seems like every business, organization and issue stops in our city to release throngs of wandering visitors equipped with name tags and lanyards.
With all these conventions comes the inevitable convention eco-impact. Mountains of signs, displays, and pamphlets are needed to update convention-goers on the latest gizmo that will revolutionize their industry.
This is an environmental nightmare. Is there any way to have a proper event in DC that doesn’t require so many resources?
A company called Dodge Color in Silver Spring has some eco-friendly options you really should check out. They sell biodegrable and recycled wall coverings. Their fabrics are available in organic cotton and 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles. They even offer UV and water-based printing methods.
If you’re an event planner or organization thinking of hosting a convention in DC, check out Dodge Color’s website.
