Owning a pet can bring lots of joy to the owner, but it is also a great responsibility. In addition to taking care of your pet’s needs and well being, each pet owner should also take into account the carbon paw print the beloved friend is leaving behind. Humans are responsible for making choices for their pets, so lets make sure those choices are right:
- Pets are lifelong commitments – for better or worse, so have that in mind when getting one.
- Adopt from a shelter – these animals need as much love or even more than the purebreds.
- Spay or neuter your pet unless you are planning to accommodate all of the off-spring.
- Pet food comes in a variety of choices, but most is made of the lowest grade meat waste. Consider feeding your pet natural and organic pet food or make your own pet food.
- Always scoop after your pet, but do not use plastic bags, go for biodegradable kind. You can also compost your pet poop – just don’t use it as a fertilizer as it contains bacteria that might make you very sick.
- Use natural pet care and cleaning products.
Love your pet and it will love you back.
