All summer I’ve been hunting for a place to learn how to tighten my brakes and tune my gears – and now I’ve found one!

The Bike House, a newly formed co-op dedicated to helping all people work on, learn about and enjoy bikes, has a free bike clinic every Saturday. From 1-3pm at Qualia Coffee in Petworth, stop by to get your bike fixed and learn the basics of bike maintenance.

City renewed? That name is really insulting to the people who have lived here for years. What is it being "renewed" from? It comes across as thoughtless and suggests that the city is being "saved" from the its middle class black roots, by its new yuppie community.

Ben, thanks for this perspective, it isn't one we considered because that was never our intention in naming the site City Renewed. The context within which we named the site was the theme of "renewable" Washington. We support sustainable projects and businesses in the city.
