It may sound totally absurd to purchase “environmentally friendly” products for your pets, but when you consider that there are 75 million owned dogs and 88 million owned cats in the United States, you begin to realize the tremendous impact our furry friends can make on the planet. By slightly altering the way we feed and care for our pets, we can help reduce their environmental paw print.
This is where Green Pets (1722 14th St. NW) comes in. The store carries several lines of natural and organic pet food and treats. In addition, you can find biodegradable waste bags, pet supplies made of recycled products and non-toxic pet health solutions.
The store used the Dog Days of Summer sale on 14th street a few weeks ago to clear their inventory and stock lots of great new stuff. Now you can find dog treats made from free-range, grass-fed cows and an expanded line of all natural Dogswell products.
Remember, you can always find more DC green businesses in our categorized “Green Business Directory.”
