New Navy Yard Farmers’ Market

1656923703_0447dae4dbYou might have heard the rumors about Michelle Obama’s new farmers’ market coming to downtown DC. It’s exciting to think about eating some hope-filled lettuce and change-fortified beets, but you can bet the crowds clamoring for the First Lady’s organic crops will be huge. If you’re not interested in fighting someone off for vegetables, take the metro down to Navy Yard to check out their new farmers’ market.

In case you aren’t hip to the Navy Yard neighborhood, it is called “The Front” by all the cool kids because of its proximity to the waterfront. The Front is hosting a farmers’ market every Wednesday from 3-7pm starting today. The market can be found in Canal Park on 2nd St. SE between M and I streets.

Vendors at the market will be selling flowers, produce and other goods. Learn more about all the exciting stuff coming to The Front.
