DC Going Dark for Earth Hour

Washington is joining 1,500 cities and going dark for World Wildlife Fund’s (WWF) Earth Hour on March 28th. In addition to the many area companies and organizations participating in Earth Hour, the Washington National Cathedral, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Judiciary Square, American University, Howard University, Gallaudet University, the National Theater and the Masonic Memorial in Alexandria will be shutting off their lights beginning at 8:30pm.

DC's Environmental Film Festival Has Arrived

The DC Environmental Film Festival will be in full swing all over the District starting March 10th. The Festival, now in its 17th year, will feature over 140 films shown in venues around DC.

This year’s festival is placing a special emphasis on the earth’s oceans. Among the ocean-focused films are: Earth: The Biography – Oceans, The State of the Planet’s Oceans, Secrets of the Reef, Colour Talks, Cuttlefish: The Brainey Bunch, A Sea Change, Who Killed Crassotrea Virginica?, Sharkwater and more.
