Government Eco-Action Mon.: The Office Goes Green

OK, so it’s not actually The Office (that beloved TV show) but your office that soon may be getting a bit greener–especially if you work in Arlington, Virginia.

The county has been selected as one of four local U.S. governments (including Charleston, SC; Nashville, TN; and San Diego, CA) to receive assistance in creating a Green Office Challenge program.

Arlington Taxis Becoming More Fuel Efficient

If you read our post on the new enviroCABs in DC, you might remember that the Ford Crown Victorias most cab drivers use are incredibly fuel inefficient. On average, a Crown Vic gets just 16 miles per gallon in the city.

While enviroCAB takes responsibility for its carbon footprint, most cab companies don’t, so Arlington is forcing their hand a little with new fuel efficiency standards for taxi cabs.
