Mayor Signs Anacostia River Clean-Up & Protection Act

Today, DC Mayor Adrian Fenty signed the historic “Anacostia River Clean-Up & Protection Act.” The legislation was originally filed by Ward 6 Councilmember Tommy Wells and was passed unanimously by the DC Council on June 16.

Green Summer Job Corps in Action

The District Department of the Environment has posted pictures of the Mayor’s Green Summer Job Corps members doing some work in the community. In these pictures, it appears they are working on removing invasive species from the Anacostia River ecosystem. Well done guys!
